Questions before you move?
Every current setup is a little different. These answers cover the most common starting points.
Tell us about your setupCan you migrate my existing emails?
In many cases, yes. What can be moved and how it is transferred depends on your current provider, the connection methods it supports and the condition of the source mailbox. We assess this before agreeing the project.
Can I keep my existing email address?
If you already use an address at a domain you control, it can usually continue to be used after the domain is connected to Microsoft 365. Personal provider addresses such as Gmail or Hotmail cannot be transferred as your Microsoft 365 domain address, but mail data may be migratable and forwarding options can be reviewed.
What if I currently use Gmail or Hotmail?
That is a common starting point. We can assess moving suitable existing mail into new Microsoft 365 mailboxes and help set up professional addresses using your business domain.
Do I need to already own a domain?
No. If you do not yet own a suitable business domain, tell us during the assessment. Domain registration and ownership will be agreed before any Microsoft 365 configuration begins.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on the number and size of mailboxes, your current provider, domain access and any source limitations. We will set out the expected sequence and timing after reviewing your setup.
Will my email stop working during migration?
Some changes can cause a short transition while internet DNS records update. We plan the change to minimise disruption, but do not promise zero downtime. Any expected impact will be explained in advance.
Can you migrate multiple employees?
Yes. We can assess multiple mailboxes, aliases and shared mailboxes and agree which data and addresses are included in the migration scope.
Can you migrate business files as well?
Potentially. Suitable file migrations into OneDrive or SharePoint are assessed separately because source systems, permissions, file volumes and business requirements vary.
Do you provide ongoing IT support?
No. Our current service is focused on fixed-scope Microsoft 365 migration and configuration projects, followed by a clear handover.
Do you work outside the West Midlands?
Our initial service focus is the West Midlands. Enquiries from outside the region can be assessed individually.
